Movies this week...

Since being off work this week (I managed to injure myself at work) I have watched quite a lot of films. These two are ones I saw at the cinema; I highly recommended you watch both of them.

Inception; a definite must see. This not only proves Nolan's superb directing skills; in particular his storytelling but proves that he can undoubtably do anything. A word of warning though, you must concentrate fully to everything happening on the screen otherwise you might get lost in the film's seemingly complicated plot. This is not a film you can pop to the toilet during. The one thing I enjoyed most during this film was the cast. They gelled together quite nicely led by the wonderful Leonardo Dicaprio, one of my favorite actors ever. It also had Nolan regulars Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy; who I assume couldn't refuse another outing the former apparently quite content with only being in a couple of scenes. This is what a summer blockbuster should be; intense, spectacular looking with a terrific script that will challenge you, not make you wish you hadn't bothered. *****

Toy Story 3; I, along with many others have been waiting for this film for quite a long time. I am happy to say however, it has been well worth the wait. It is every bit as brilliant, charming and hilarious as the previous films, keeping true to the feel and the characters which are that very heart of the story. They have also managed to successfully introduce new characters including Ken, voiced quite fantastically by Michael Keaton and my personal favorite Mr Pricklepants voiced by the marvelous Timothy Dalton (the only flaw in this film in my eyes is that he is not in it enough). The film did however give me a feeling which I thought I would never happen, a sense of the unknown. I can usually tell where a film is going, and trust that the protagonist will make it through whatever danger they are in. There is a moment in Toy Story 3 (in the film's last few minutes) where I was completely flabbergasted. I had no idea where it was going to next and it scared the absolute hell out of me. I won't say how it ended; as that would spoil the film and I hate it when people do that. *****

doctor who...

the other day me and Amina (housemate, also working on Inbred with me) started rewriting a script I already have into a Doctor Who episode.

We're doing quite well so far and have figured out what kind of doctor who ep it is going to be i.e. it will be one of the lighter episodes, and will feature just the doctor in it for most of it. When I have properly written some of it I will post a section for all to read and see what you think.

At the moment it's called Aliens! In the Library!

I can't sleep

I have no idea why and its quite annoying. It could be any of the following reasons;

1. it is too hot; going from the coldest winter it has turned into an incredibly hot summer.
2. Noises outside my window; due to the heat I would like to sleep with my window open, but I get distracted by the noises that happen outside (the pelting rain for example)
3. the constant mumerings from brummie and housemate next door which make me extremley paranoid and makes me think they're having sex when they aren't.
4. I am worried about my new job; which is bollocks cos I'm not.
5. I like to sleep in my covers which I shouldn't because it is too hot but it feels to strange without them.

I am not entirely sure how to remedy any of these, maybe tonight I shall try and think of one until it tires me out so completely that I nod off.

In other news Inbred is going incredibly well and could very well be my foot in the door in the film industry, yey!!
